Overview
Solmax is seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Senior FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team and bring their career to the next level. This role goes beyond traditional FP&A responsibilities by working closely with the Data Management team to strengthen our company’s data architecture, normalization, and modeling processes. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to financial planning, reporting, and business insights, while also ensuring the quality, consistency, and reliability of data used across the organization. We are looking for someone that wants to contribute to the integration and work with state-of-the-art reporting tools and applications.
Responsibilities:
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for assigned business units.
Develop financial models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Partner with business leaders to deliver insights into performance, risks, and opportunities.
Consolidate and analyze monthly financial results, explaining variances against forecast and prior periods.
Build management reports and dashboards to communicate KPIs and actionable insights to leadership.
Analyze profitability from multiple angles (business segment, product line, customers, region, etc.)
Partner with the Data Management team to design and refine financial data models and structures.
Contribute to the integration of financial information from multiple ERPs into a Snowflake database
Contribute to data normalization efforts, ensuring consistency and comparability across multiple ERPs and systems.
Validate and reconcile financial and operational data sources to support accurate reporting.
Collaborate on the creation of centralized data pipelines and standardized reporting frameworks.
Support data governance initiatives by identifying gaps, enforcing standards, and improving data quality.
Qualifications and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
5-8+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical role.
Strong experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Proven ability to work with large datasets and complex reporting structures.
Hands-on experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker).
Proficiency with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools; experience in multi-ERP environments is an asset.
Solid understanding of data architecture, normalization, and data validation principles.
Strong computer skills with advanced working knowledge of Excel and PowerBI and functional knowledge of ERP systems and applications (Dynamics 365 and SAP would be a plus)
Strong capacity to gather and process large amounts of data for efficient consolidated reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication, both in French and English to build a meaningful narrative with data
Resourceful and having the ability to find and implement temporary solutions but also suggest long term and more robust solutions.
