Experience and Solutions
Our installation teams are among the most experienced in the industry. Certified geomembrane welders trained at the renowned SKZ (in Würzburg, Germany) and qualified under DVS 2213-1, they bring decades of on-site expertise to complex projects around the world.
Supported by advanced welding and testing equipment, our specialists deliver dependable performance across all site conditions. No matter the scale or complexity, we adapt, efficiently, safely, and with the precision that defines Solmax.
Purpose-fit solutions, worldwide.
Solmax installation teams deliver tailored geosynthetic systems for a broad range of applications.
From site preparation to final testing, we provide complete installation solutions, designed for durability, environmental safety, and cost-effective performance.
Landfill construction and contaminated site remediation
Installation of composite liner and capping systems that provide reliable long-term sealing to protect soil and groundwater from contamination. Sealing geomembranes, bentonite liners, and drainage mats are selected for chemical, biological, and mechanical resistance.
Pit thermal energy storage (PTES)
Professional construction and sealing of large-scale earth basin heat storage systems. These seasonal thermal reservoirs enable the long-term storage of solar or process heat for flexible use in district heating networks.
Mining operations
Installation of geomembrane systems for heap leach pads, process ponds, evaporation ponds, and tailings storage facilities. These lining systems provide chemical resistance, stability, and containment performance under demanding operational conditions.
Hydraulic engineering and water management
Lining of storage ponds, canals, reservoirs, and rainwater retention basins. Our systems help mitigate the effects of climate change by enabling safe and efficient water storage and management.
Transport infrastructure
Installation of waterproofing and barrier systems in road, rail, and tunnel construction. Our teams produce geomembrane-compliant tunnel waterproofing systems using GSE® geomembranes, profile strips, and purpose-built installation scaffolds.
Industrial containment and groundwater protection
Sealing of hall floors, transfer areas, and tank farms to prevent infiltration of pollutants. Our DIBt-approved geomembranes and installation services ensure safe containment of process water and environmentally hazardous liquids.
Quality & Certifications
We hold ourselves to high standards because quality is not negotiable.
Our installations are executed under a certified ISO 9001 quality management system, ensuring process control from planning through final acceptance.
Testing procedures, including pressure, vacuum, and spark tests, verify the integrity of every weld. Materials and seams are verified through GAI-LAP-accredited laboratories, ensuring independent quality assurance and long-term durability.
We rely on proven welding technology from Leister, combined with continuous training and equipment maintenance, to achieve consistent, high-strength seams and reliable containment performance on every site.
Our installation competence center operates under rigorous quality, safety, and environmental standards. Key certifications, accreditations, and memberships include:

Pit Thermal Energy Storage reservoir construction on the Tibetan Plateau
At 4,600 m, Tibet’s first pit thermal storage uses Solmax geosynthetics to store 700 MWh of solar heat, supplying 90 percent of Langkazi’s district heating demand.
