Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Group Leader who’s ready to guide a skilled team, develop talent, and champion a culture of integrity, initiative, and excellence. In this role, you won’t just maintain equipment—you’ll empower people, improve processes, and help drive a high-performance operation.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and solving complex equipment issues, collaborating with external engineers orintegrators as needed.

  • Communicating daily with shift supervisors to align on challenges from previous shifts.

  • Leading pass-down meetings to ensure technicians are informed and prepared.

  • Participating in production meetings when needed to discuss quality, downtime, and operationalpriorities.

  • Managing and prioritizing work orders through CMMS, scheduling downtime with supervisors, andassigning tasks according to technician skill sets.

  • Ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of all maintenance work.

  • Building and optimizing the Preventative Maintenance program to reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Reviewing predictive maintenance reports (vibration analysis, thermographic readings) andscheduling follow-up actions.

  • Supporting parts management, including vendor communication, cost review, requisitions, andinventory readiness.

  • Developing a progressive training plan for all technicians—both internal and external.

  • Actively collaborating in downtime meetings to solve recurring issues and propose innovativesolutions.

  • Participating in cost-savings initiatives and presenting downtime progress in monthly managementreviews.

  • Conducting performance evaluations and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Overseeing shop operations, including welding, machining, tool security, and emergency repairactions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of leadership experience

  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, crouch, and kneel frequently (25% to 75%).

  • Must be able to crawl and climb occasionally (25% or less).

  • Must be able to stand and handle/manipulate equipment continuously (75% or more).

  • Must be able to lift 10-50 lbs. (25% or less).

  • Must be able to carry 10-20 lbs. frequently (25% to 75%), and 20-50 lbs.

  • Must be able to push under 10 lbs. frequently (25% to 75%), and 20-50 lbs. or over occasionally (25%or less).

  • Must be able to pull under 10 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. to over 50 lbs. occasionally (25% or less).
