Position overview
The Engineering business manager (EBM) is a specialist in providing technical advice and engineering in the field of civil engineering solutions with geosynthetics. The application areas here are in both hydraulic engineering, civil infrastructure, and geotechnical structures. The EBM role is crucial in stimulating business growth by using expertise, networking skills and (technical) knowledge of (water) infrastructure. The EBM contributes to the realization of integral projects with the knowledge of our own products, for example hydraulic engineering applications. The EBM reports directly to an Area Sales Manager and is part of the Sales Team of a specific region.
Key responsibilities
In this position you use your technical background to achieve technical-commercial goals and further develop our specification network (mainly public collectivity, consultant engineers and other key stakeholders). The region of responsibility will be Africa and the Middle East.
Develop sales strategies, together with the team, and use your existing network to achieve these goals.
Collaborate in an international setting with colleagues and partners to develop new solutions and products.
Project management of a diverse portfolio, continuously seeking project specific solutions to exceed the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.
Promote the use of geosynthetics in sustainable solutions.
Develop and implement, together with other Sales Engineers in EMEA, technical marketing tools.
Internal networking to share opportunities from your own network.
Full use of our CRM to keep track of projects and contacts as well as evaluation of the business progression.
Qualifications and skills
A civil engineering background (or related field such as geotechnical engineering) at bachelor or master level with a strong interest in commerce.
Demonstrable work experience in civil engineering. Commercial expertise in the infrastructure market is a plus.
An existing network and contacts in the civil engineering world in your region. Possessing a network outside your region is a plus.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
You are self-motivated, results oriented, and able to work independently.
You are willing to travel within the region to meet relations (0% indicative) and attend events such as trade shows/congresses to explore new business opportunities.
Next to your mother tongue, your French and English skills are excellent, both verbally and written.
Studies in a well-regarded French high school.
