Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team as an AR/Credit Specialist. Accuracy and organization are critical for this role as this person will be responsible for duties related to customer credit accounts, billing, collections and data entry. Good decision-making skills and the ability to work independently as well as a team player. Some experience in the construction industry related to bond and lien law is desired. Must be able to adapt easily to changes in job duties as needs arise within the AR department.
Key Responsibilities
Credit & Accounts Receivable
Review applications for new customers and pull credit reports
Review existing customer credit limits yearly to recommend and adjust limits as necessary
Analyze customer financial statements for credit limit recommendations
Release orders from credit hold screen within decision parameters
Request copy of surety bond when necessary and prepare lien waivers
Prepare monthly reports using Excel or Power BI
Apply daily cash receipts from customers that are received via ACH/Check/Wire to bank.
Identify deductions and reconcile accounts. Determine resolution or root cause.
Comfortable speaking with customers on the phone regarding past due payments
Process and submit customer and intercompany invoices that include tax reviews
Maintain sales tax certificate database
Process Credit Memos
Requirements
Associates degree or higher education in accounting/ business related field
Minimum of 5+ years in accounting or similar experience
Experience with SAP and Dynamics 365 preferable
Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, v lookups) Microsoft suite
Ability to work in our Pendergrass, GA office
Shift work: 8-hour shift Monday – Friday, (possible hybrid schedule). Overtime as needed
Any other related tasks requested by the position and/or immediate superior
Familiar with general ledger and balance sheet entries
