A homeowner used PROPEX Armormax to protect a bluff damaged by the Pacific Palisades fire to reduce erosion risk, support revegetation and mitigate future wildfires.

In 2016, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, experienced severe flooding due to excessive rainfall near the Amite River, affecting over 109,000 homes and causing $2.3 billion in residential property damage. This prompted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to seek flood mitigation solutions.
The USACE implemented a 19.3-km (12-mi) diversion canal project from the Comite River to the Mississippi River. This extensive project included six segments, control structures, two railroad bridges, and four highway bridges, employing 30,193 m3 (33,000 yd3) of PROPEX®Armormax® with B1 Anchors along the canal's slopes.
The initiative proved effective, with vegetation along the canal flourishing, indicating successful environmental integration. The use of PROPEX Armormax not only stabilized the canal's banks but also significantly reduced urban flood risk, safeguarding the area against future rainfall and flooding events.
