Position overview

Solmax is looking for a Financial Analyst to be in charge of the corporate management reporting, mainly in Power BI. We are looking for someone able to take on large projects of development of reports and dashboards, and who wants to bring their career to the next level. This is a new position being created following a major acquisition which doubled the company size. We are looking for someone that wants to contribute to the integration and work with state-of-the-art reporting tools and applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting for corporate executives.

  • Master and prepare financial reporting databases

  • Make detailed variance analysis of monthly results.

  • Analyze profitability from multiple angles (business segment, product line, customers, region, etc.)

  • Analyze the financial performance of production sites

  • Develop weekly reports based on transactional data.

  • Present financial information visually

  • Maintain Net income forecast

  • Lead annual budget efforts.

  • Standardized financial KPIs for operations

  • Contribute to the integration of financial information from multiple ERPs into a Snowflake database

  • Optimize and develop tools for internal financial analysis

Qualifications and skills

  • Strong capacity to gather and process large amount of data for efficient consolidated reporting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, both in French and English to build a meaningful narrative with data

  • Resourceful and having the ability to find and implement temporary solutions, but also suggest to long term and more robust solution

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience. CPA designation an asset

  • Strong computer skills with advanced working knowledge of Excel and PowerBI and functional knowledge of ERP systems and applications (Dynamics 365 and SAP would be a plus)

  • Approachable with the ability to communicate cross-functionally within an evolving organization

  • Must be able to prioritize work and have the ability to work independently as well as an effective member of the overall Finance team. Demonstrated a high level of adaptability and works well under pressure. Thrive in a fast-paced environment
