Meets GRI GM17 Specifications for LLDPE
The GSE® LL liner series is a linear low-density polyethylene geomembrane, designed to exceed the requirements of the GRI-GM17 specification standard for LLDPE geomembrane liners.
Where rigid HDPE geomembranes may be susceptible to stress cracking under differential movement, GSE LL is specifically engineered to flex. Manufactured using high quality linear low-density polyethylene resins with carbon black, antioxidants, and UV stabilizers incorporated into the polymer, GSE LL delivers long-term durability alongside a level of flexibility that HDPE cannot match. Its superior break elongation and multi-axial break resistance allow the geomembrane to deform in multiple directions to relieve material stresses - making it the preferred choice where ground movement is a consideration.
The multi-directional flexibility of GSE LL makes it particularly well suited to applications where differential settlement is expected. Landfill caps, closure systems, and bioreactors all benefit from a liner that can accommodate movement without compromising containment integrity. For projects where additional flexibility beyond what HDPE can offer is a design requirement, GSE LL provides a proven and cost-effective solution.
For projects demanding the highest levels of multi-axial performance and geomembrane longevity, GSE LLX offers an enhanced specification within the LLDPE range.
GSE LL is available in a range of configurations to meet varying project requirements:
Smooth surface — for standard lining applications
Single or double textured surface — provides increased frictional resistance to improve slope stability, allowing steeper slopes that can increase containment capacity and reduce project costs
Colour options — black (standard), green (for aesthetic landfill caps), or white (solar-reflective upper surface)
Liner integrity survey layer — bottom surface option enabling post-installation leak location surveys
GSE LL geomembranes have a long and well-documented history of reliable field performance. Extrusion and fusion welding can both be performed with ease and confidence under a wide variety of site conditions, supporting efficient installation and quality seaming across large-scale projects.
GSE LL is suited to a broad range of containment scenarios where flexibility is a primary design consideration. It is widely specified for solid and liquid waste containment, landfill closure systems, and bioreactor lining where the liner must accommodate differential settlement over time and anywhere a flexible, GRI-GM17 compliant geomembrane is called for.
