GSE Leak Location Suite
Precision matters in critical containment systems
From mining and industrial facilities to landfills and wastewater basins, geomembrane liners are essential for isolating hazardous materials and protecting the environment. However, even minor defects – pinholes, seam weaknesses, or installation damage – can compromise containment. Once covered by soil, water, or ballast, these breaches are almost impossible to detect without the right technology.
Conventional leak detection surveys often face limitations: unreliable results over dry or frozen subgrades, false positives near seams, and incomplete testing in areas with wrinkles or uneven contact. Engineers need a more reliable, repeatable, and cost-effective method for verifying liner integrity – both during installation and throughout a site's lifecycle.
A complete suite for accurate electrical leak detection
The GSE® Leak Location Suite delivers a comprehensive, field-proven solution for locating geomembrane leaks using advanced electrical leak location (ELL) methods. The system combines a conductive-backed liner with specialized tools that enable efficient testing across both exposed and covered applications.
At the core of this suite is the GSE Leak Location Conductive geomembrane – a high-density or linear low-density polyethylene liner co-extruded with a conductive bottom layer. This design removes the need for a separate conductive substrate and enables reliable testing using Spark Testing or Dipole Surveys. .
For improved installation and survey accuracy, the Iso-wedge – a patented tool developed by Solmax – prevents conductivity breaks at welded seams and eliminates false positives. The S-100 Spark Tester, equipped with three electrode attachments, allows for precise leak detection across complex surfaces, including seams, wrinkles, and vertical panels. GSE Leak Location Suite can significantly enhance post-installation leak testing, providing an essential safeguard to the environmental containments.
