Overview

The role of Payroll Specialist (m/f/d) involves ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time. The role focuses on compliance with wage and social security legislation, managing payroll-related processes, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

The Payroll Specialist (m/f/d) reports to the Human Resources Manager in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independent and timely processing of monthly payroll

  • Verification and processing of variable data (allowances, absences, bonuses, non-cash benefits, etc.)

  • Assisting with international payroll processing in collaboration with external service providers

  • Maintaining and checking payroll-related data in the HR and time-attendance systems, maintaining personnel master data and personnel files

  • Support with internal and external audits and handling reporting and certification procedures (social security, income tax, health insurance, public authorities)

  • Collaboration with external partners such as tax advisors, health insurance providers, auditors and public authorities

  • Preparing reports and statistical analyses

  • Contribution to the optimisation and standardisation of payroll and HR processes

Qualifications and skills

  • Successfully completed commercial apprenticeship

  • Several years’ professional experience in payroll accounting

  • Excellent knowledge of German income tax and social security law

  • Experience in using payroll systems – knowledge of PAISY is an advantage

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel

  • Strong numerical aptitude, a keen sense of responsibility and a very meticulous approach to work

  • Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially

  • Independent, results-oriented, reliable and structured approach to work with a hands-on mentality and with good English skills
