Position overview
The Senior Data Engineer, a key member of the Business Intelligence Team, is tasked with the acquisition, processing, and provisioning of business data within the enterprise data analytics infrastructure. This role entails designing and implementing efficient data pipelines, extracting data from various business systems, and integrating it into our data lake and data warehouse. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a range of technologies including relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines. Key responsibilities include managing data from multiple ERP platforms (Dynamics 365 F&O, SAP ECC, JD Edwards, DB2, etc.) and developing data models based on Dynamics 365 F&O base tables in line with user requirements.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT jobs in various tools.
Analyze and work with Dynamics 365 F&O tables to construct data marts tailored to business needs and user requirements.
Engage in SQL/PL-SQL development and work with Azure data platform and Snowflake.
Contribute to the development of BI Analytics and oversee the design and implementation of data ingestion and transformation routines.
Lead or participate in projects with data-related deliverables and collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements.
Propose enhancements or optimizations to the data model to meet new requirements or improve efficiency.
Manage the entire lifecycle of development projects.
Maintain relationships with external partners.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science/engineering, System Analysis, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL/ELT jobs.
Familiarity with ERP platforms, preferably Dynamics 365 F&O and advanced skills in SQL/PL-SQL.
Experience with Azure Data Platform (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks) and Snowflake.
Strong communication skills, able to engage with all organizational levels and diverse project teams.
Self-management, proactive approach, and a customer-oriented mindset.
Hands-on experience throughout the entire lifecycle of development projects.
Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Power Platform and background in diverse data architectures, data modeling, and data warehousing.
